Creepy Things You'll Find in Your Air Ducts

Happy Halloween! Here at Korrect Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. we like to celebrate Halloween all throughout October, not just on the 31st, and what better way to ring in the spookiest season than with some horror stories?

Keep reading for some creepy tales of potential pests you could find crawling through your home’s air ducts!

Rodents

If you’ve ever fallen asleep thinking that you can hear something running above your head, it might not have just been an over-active imagination. Rats and mice have been known to make their homes in air ducts and attics. This isn’t too hard to believe since they’re small and flexible, and able to squeeze through tiny spaces.

Snakes

Although perhaps you didn’t hear the pitter-patter of rodent feet, maybe instead you heard something more like a swishing or slithering sound. If that’s the case, then you’ve likely got a snake nesting in your home.

Organic Pollution

Sometimes, what’s hiding in your air ducts makes no sound at all, which typically makes it more dangerous. What we’re talking about now is mold, mildew, bacteria, dander, and other kinds of organic contaminants.

If you want to make sure that the air flowing throughout your home is clean, safe, and free of harmful contaminants, then maintaining your indoor air quality is incredibly important. We would recommend installing an indoor air purifier which will help to either clean air before its distributed throughout your home, or clean the air already in your home, depending on the model you install.

At Korrect Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc., we take indoor air quality concerns very seriously and will work hard to make sure your home’s air is safe and clean for all of your residents.
